Notes from "Livit Word"

Our intent is to help/teach the people under our care to develop a deeper relationship with the Lord and enter more fully into discipleship.  A key way of doing this is by giving practical teaching from scripture – to see things as God sees them.

Micah 6 v 8 “He has showed you ‘o’ man what is good and what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”

We want to equip them, through a knowledge of the bible (by knowledge I mean a deep understanding) to be disciples and be prepared for “….works of service” (Ephesians 4 v 12).  We want them to know the bible so they can feed themselves, stand on their own feet and teach others – even memorising scripture or at least knowing where things are.

The principle of the teaching sessions are proposed as:

Session 1:  Forgiveness (what God has done for us)

Session 2:  Repentance (our response)

Session 3:  Baptism in Holy Spirit (power to be witnesses)

Session 4:  Relationships (loving other people)

Session 5:  Identity (who are you – child of God)

Session 6:  Kingdom of God (It’s about God’s way not mine)
